Bo Bites – Killer Whale Sex Party

(Lyrics – Michael Jackson – Theme from Free Willy – Will You Be There)

Meet me…at the Killer Whale Sex Club
And I will then say to thee, you are my friend
Yelp with me, like you are my brother
Review it like a mutha, will you read it?
………………………………..
When hungry, tell me will you eat with me?
When parched, will you drink with me?
When lost, will you find me?
But they told me, it’s on Roosevelt Row
And try when I’m able
And stay til the end, but I’m only human
…………………………………
Cocktails taking control of me
Seems that Deez Bunz got a kick to it!
It’s so dang dark, will you show to me
You’ll be there for me and care enough to sing with me?

From the outside, you would think the place was a graffiti spot for artists.  However, once you walk in, you’ll realize it’s not what you think!

The place itself is almost like a speakeasy with all the windows blocked off; it’s dark!  With a quaint bar along with a wall of porn pictures, no Killer Whale Sex here, just sex, this place has something going on!

I started with a cocktail since shooting for a plain whiskey at a place like this didn’t seem right.  Though I’m not a tart cocktail fan and they seemed to have a lot.  However, the waiter recommended The Hot Seat and it worked.  With a hint of tart and just the right amount of stout, it was refreshing yet not over-powering my palates.  The texture had a consistency of a sangria if that helps and it actually looks like one too; maybe I did just have a sangria haha!

For my food, I ordered their Deez Buns – KFC.  Deep fried chicken with slaw topped with hot sauce; the hot sauce can be ordered mild or hot.
I’m a wuss when it comes to spice, but I went with the HOT anyways.  Needless to say, it was the right go since it wasn’t a lingering spice and dissipated quickly.  The fried chicken was a tad bit over-fried for my liking since I could taste the char-burnt crunch.  The hot sauce helped mask the burnt taste for me.  The squid ink bao bun itself was the star since it was doughy, but kept its girth and placement.  The bun to protein ratio was spot on.  My meal came along with some street corn lumpia.  I would say go with the pork lumpia if you could choose that over the street corn since I thought it was just a cream corn eggroll.

In the end, I would still come back for cocktails and just to hangout for something different.  The place had an out of the norm vibe and a rebellious punch to the visuals.  The service was impeccable and very helpful with my selections. – Enjoy!
